How long does a tankless water heater repair usually take?

Most repairs take 1 to 3 hours depending on the fault. Cleaning a clogged inlet screen takes about 30 minutes; replacing an ignition module takes about an hour; descaling a heat exchanger takes about 2 hours. Complex venting or gas line work may take longer. We estimate the time once we assess the problem.

Will descaling prevent future mineral buildup?

Descaling removes current buildup but does not prevent new buildup if your water is hard. In hard-water areas common in Central Florida, descaling is often needed every 2 to 3 years. A whole-home water softener eliminates the problem permanently and improves the lifespan of your tankless heater and appliances.

Can you repair Navien, Rinnai, and Rheem systems?

Yes. We service all three brands regularly and carry common replacement parts for each. We also repair A.O. Smith, EcoSmart, and Stiebel Eltron units. If you have a different brand, call us with the model number and we can confirm we can service it.

Can I repair a tankless water heater myself?

Minor tasks like cleaning an inlet screen are homeowner-friendly. Anything involving ignition, gas pressure, venting, or electrical work should be left to a licensed plumber. Tankless systems operate under high pressure and gas, so misdiagnosis or improper repair can cause hazards like gas leaks or carbon monoxide.

Is it worth repairing a 15-year-old tankless water heater?

Usually yes, if the repair cost is less than 40 percent of a new unit. A 15-year-old system with a single failed component like an ignition module or mixing valve is often worth repairing. If the heat exchanger is corroded or multiple repairs are needed, replacement may be wiser. We will be honest about it.

What warranty do you provide on repairs?

We provide a one-year parts warranty on all replacements and a 30-day labor warranty. If a repaired component fails within one year, we cover the parts and labor to replace it. If a related issue stems from a different component, we diagnose it at no charge and discuss next steps.
