// Why Central Florida chooses us

What sets our standby generators apart.

01

Generac-Certified Installation & Expert Sizing

We do not just connect a generator, we size it correctly so it powers what matters most. Oversized units waste fuel and money; undersized units fail during critical moments. Our technicians evaluate your electrical panel, identify essential circuits, and recommend the right Generac model for your budget.

02

Natural Gas & Propane Integration Expertise

Most backup generators run on natural gas or propane. If your home already has gas lines, we extend that infrastructure to fuel your generator safely and efficiently. If you do not have gas service, we design a propane tank installation that is accessible for refills and positioned for optimal performance.

03

Automatic Transfer Switch Installation & Testing

An automatic transfer switch detects a utility outage, starts your generator, and transfers your home's power supply without manual intervention. We install, test, and maintain transfer switches to code, ensuring your system engages reliably every time the power goes out.

04

Preventive Maintenance to Keep Your Backup Ready

A generator that has not run in months may fail when you need it most. Our maintenance visits include exercise runs, fuel system inspection, oil and filter changes, battery checks, and transfer switch testing. We schedule these visits before hurricane season so your system is verified and ready.

05

Fast Repair Service When Your Generator Fails

If your generator does not start, runs rough, or shuts down unexpectedly, we diagnose and repair it quickly. We carry common Generac parts on our trucks and can often complete repairs same-day, including fuel system problems, transfer switch issues, and engine performance faults.

06

Licensed & Insured Work with Full Documentation

We hold all required electrical and mechanical licenses for generator installation in Florida. Every installation includes detailed documentation of the model, capacity, fuel type, transfer switch settings, and testing results, which is essential for insurance claims, home sales, and future service.

Most common jobs, flat-rate, in writing. If we hit something unexpected on-site we stop and re-quote, never a “while we’re in here” surprise.

// Standby generators FAQ

Questions Central Florida asks.

Straight answers, no upsell, no runaround.

What size generator do I need for my home?

It depends on which appliances and systems you want to power during an outage. A basic setup for essential circuits like lights, refrigerator, and well pump might need 10 to 15 kilowatts, while a whole-home generator powering air conditioning could need 20 to 25 kilowatts or more. We calculate your actual load.

Will my generator automatically start if the power goes out?

Yes, if you install an automatic transfer switch. When utility power fails, the switch signals your Generac generator to start and, once it reaches stable output, transfers your essential circuits to generator power. Without a transfer switch, you would have to manually start it and flip breakers.

Should I choose natural gas or propane for my generator?

Natural gas is convenient if your home already has gas service, with no tank maintenance or refueling. Propane works anywhere but requires periodic tank refills. We work with both. Homes near utility gas lines often choose natural gas, while rural properties or those without gas service choose propane.

How long can my generator run continuously?

Most residential Generac generators run 8 to 20 hours or more depending on fuel tank size and load. A whole-home generator with a large propane tank or existing natural gas service can run indefinitely as long as fuel is supplied. We discuss runtime expectations during your consultation.

How often should I exercise or maintain my backup generator?

We recommend running your generator under load at least monthly, and more often before hurricane season. Exercise runs should last 15 to 30 minutes at about 50 percent load. Annual professional maintenance with oil changes, filter replacement, and fuel system inspection keeps your system reliable.

Do you service commercial backup generators too?

Yes. Businesses need backup power for continuity, keeping servers running, refrigeration safe, and security systems active. We design and install commercial Generac generators with load management for business-critical systems and set up maintenance schedules tailored to your facility's needs.
